Did you wake up to see the Royal Wedding of Megan Markle to Prince Harry? I had done the same thing many years ago to see Princess Diana marry Prince Charles so it was only fitting that I do the same to watch Diana's son take his bride.
Seeing the couple for weeks together before the ceremony you had a sense that these two were truly in love. And then to learn how with completly different backgrounds their goals were totally in sync. I know this sounds corny and so optimistic but with all the bad news in the world it was wonderful to start the day with love and hope. It is days latter and I still am basking in the warmth, love and hopefulness that that beautiful wedding gave us. They ignored all those barriers that had been going on for generations... those useless, made up barriers that divided individuals, families and countries. And they have a mission, a mission to make the world a better place. The Bishop Michael Curry said all so well, as he spoke about the power of love. I will track down his speech and post it here. While painting this wedding portrait of Megan and Harry I played over and over again the song sung by Karen Gibsons Kingdom Choir "Stand by Me." That song has a much greater meaning in this world now.
